What A Mess!

What a Mess!  Last Sunday we finished moving the big stuff to the new building.  Thanks a bunch to the family and friends who came to help.  We moved everything while it was snowing.

The Bars.....that's where they will be permanently.

One of the guys helping brought a trailer.  That was a HUGE help.  It made many trips in to few.  WE were able to move the bars much easier.

and the shelving from the kitchen/storeroom area.  Not to mention we piled boxes on there and much much more.  Assembly lines were common.  Teamwork!

Good Bye 1800 Main!  Thank you for giving us a start.  Next chapter is 110 South 18th Street (just a half a block south and on the left).  We can't WAIT to be open!  Lots of fun things planned while we work on the kitchen, and once we get the kitchen ready......Look Out Parsons, it's going to be AWESOME!

More progress

The "secret room" isn't so secret anymore.  You can see it's location from down below.  It's still a ways from being finished and accessible.

Current new spot for our rocket!

At the new building we will not be serving our regular menu at first.  There are regulations with the Kansas Department of Agriculture on what can and can't be served without a restaurant license.    We can serve a limited amount of prepackaged foods though.  This is part of our "temporary new kitchen".  We will have our drinks refrigerated and we also have some other treats that aren't pictured.

Friday February 20 will be our last day open at 1800 Main

Watch our Facebook Page, our Twitter, g+, or sign up for our newsletter on our web page for announcement of when we will be opening at our new location,
110 South 18th Street

Just down to the necessities

Just down to the necessities now.  Much of our decor has been taken down and moved.  Plumbing has been fixed and water should be on at the new building tonight.  For now we only have a toilet, but that's better than nothing right?  We will have to tear out a wall or part of a wall to fix the broken water lines that go to the bathroom sink.  That hopefully will be done by February 21st for our Sock Hop.

We have started stocking our pre-packaged foods and canned/bottled sodas at the new building.  Starting out we won't be able to serve our menu, because we don't have the new kitchen built yet.  However we will have GAMES!  We will be all moved, by March 1st, if not a little before then.  When we get all moved, we will be open in the evenings.  Watch for more details.

Estimated 5 Ton removed from new building

We finally have the upstairs cleaned out!  Now we have room to store some of the "not often used" things like the Coffin and the Throne of Bone, and some things you've never seen before.  LOL!
We have recycled a lot of the metal stuff that was up there, which totaled about 2 Ton.  We rented a big roll-off dumpster for the non recyclables, and it weighed in at 1.9 Ton.  We estimate probably another Ton worth of just trash and other things that we could put in the regular dumpster.  So an estimated 5 TON of junk and stuff taken out of the upstairs.  The building is probably feeling much better.

Here are a couple of the floors we [literally] uncovered.  They look AMAZING!  We will be storing the extra things in these 2 rooms (that we cleaned the floors in) for now.

More progress downstairs as well.  This is more of that "secret room"  We have the wall frames up and a door installed.  Next will be Sheetrock.

We do have a Sock Hop coming up on the 21st of February.  You can view our Event and let us know you are coming, or planning on coming either on g+ or on Facebook.  We will be updating with the final information real soon.

And this is something neat we found upstairs cleaning.  It's the Top 40 for the week of January 7, 1968.  Our new building used to be Newkirk's Music Store.  This was in a record bag, and both are in really good shape.
