Last Saturday we had a Sanctioned Tournament sponsored by The Candy Basket, a local candy store here in Parsons.
First place won our Avacyn stand-up from the SOI prerelease.
We also had a mini tournament for the younger players. They got a free ready to play deck as their prize and to play their tournament with.
Only 2 more Friday Night's left this month and yes, we're playing MTG! We have a $15 SOI Draft coming up this weekend, and next weekend is open play. Bring your cards and your fellow MTG friends and play some magic at The Castle!
We made some major floor progress this past week 11 squares total! We have been averaging 3-4 a week. WOO! Puts us right at or a few squares over half way. Next step after the floor is the plumbing in the kitchen up front and the electric work up front. Our new target date, since April 1 has already slipped past, is June 1st. WE can do this! We WILL do this!
I've wanted to add something to the fountain. It was just so plain. I found these cuties at the dollar store. Me Froggy and Me Turtle. Aren't they just adorable!
The weekend MTG at Cosmic Castle we will be hosting 2 Headed Giant for Friday Night Magic and Shadows over Innistrad Game Day on Saturday.

Friday at 9:00 is The Portal, a get together for young adults.

This weekend at Cosmic Castle is going to be a BLAST!
Thursday evening starting at 7:00pm we have Our Thursday Dungeons & Dragons group heading back into the dungeon. We are open 5:00 to 9:00 pm
Friday evenung we have Friday Night Magic. Bring your cards and play with us. No particular format this week since it's Prerelease weekend. Magic is from 5:00 pm to 9:00pm The Portal is from 9:00 until Midnight when the Shadows over Innistrad MTG Prerelease begins.
Saturday into the wee hours of the morning (in the past it's been 6am) the prerelease continues. Saturday afternoon we open again at 3:00pm. There is a Yu-Gi-Oh tournament saturday afternoon at 3:30. Dungeons & Dragons Saturday group will be heading back into the dungeon around 7:00. Also there is MTG happening all afternoon/evening, and Yarn Club meets 7:00 to 9:00.
Yes I can believe We have neglected to keep the blog up. Does that mean we have been busy? Yes, it does. Here is a quick highlight of the past year.
We got off to a rough start in our new building. Everything was going good until we turned the water on. We ended up with a water leak under the sidewalk. Yes, on our side of the meter. Finally got that fixed.
During the summer we started hosting "The Portal" which is sponsored by Chris and Melinda. The Portal is a time for young adults (teen to early 20's) can come in and enjoy spending tome together playing games, chit chatting, and having fun.
In August we got set up with Wizards of the Coast to sell Magic the Gathering cards, decks, etc. We hosted our first ever prerelese in October. It was a grand event! We just made the requirements just in time. Our Wizards rep was quite impressed with our numbers considering the size of our town and that we were an arcade. :-)
In October we participated in the Monster March. Handed out a lot of candy to the local kids.
In December we participated in the Christmas Parade......and came away with an honorable mention with our "PacMan Fever" entry.

Since then, we have been working on temporary kitchen up front. It will be a while until we can get the back fixed the way we want it to have our dream kitchen. We will share more about that in our next post.
